People have been making lemonade out of lemons for ages, but lemonade’s biggest debut came during the 17th century in Paris, France. Vendors sold a mixture of sparkling water, lemon juice and honey from tanks strapped to their backs. The drink became so popular that French vendors formed a union called Compagnie de Limonadiers furthering the lemonade craze in Europe and eventually sending it to the United States.
